The conference fosters multi-disciplinarity and allows researchers from areas such as computer science, mathematics, psychology, philosophy, history (of science, art, etc.), education research, and more to meet and share their perspectives on the theory and application of diagrams.<br>For 2024, topics of the main track include, but are not limited to: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>applications of diagrams,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>computational models of reasoning with, and interpretation of, diagrams,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>design of diagrammatic notations,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>diagram understanding by humans or machines,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>diagram aesthetics and layout,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>evaluation of diagrammatic notations,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>graphical communication and literacy,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>heterogeneous notations involving diagrams,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>history of diagrams,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>information visualization using diagrams,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>nature of diagrams and diagramming,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>novel technologies for diagram use,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reasoning with diagrams,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>semiotics of diagrams,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>diagrams in multimodal communication,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>software to support the use of diagrams, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>usability and human-computer interaction issues concerning diagrams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the main track, Diagrams 2024 will have two special tracks:&nbsp;<em>Philosophy<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Psychology and Education<\/em>. If&nbsp;the main research contribution of your submission is considered to fit on either of these themes&nbsp;then you are encouraged to&nbsp;submit to the respective special track, each of which has a dedicated program committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>****************************************************************************<br><strong>Submission Categories<\/strong><br><br>We invite submissions for peer review that focus on any aspect of diagrams research, as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Long Papers (16 pages)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Short Papers (8 pages)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Posters (4 pages \u2013 this is both a maximum and minimum requirement)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abstracts, i.e. non-archival contributions (3 pages)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Details for all submission categories and formatting guidelines and requirements can be found at: <a href=\"https:\/\/diagrams-2024.diagrams-conference.org\/?page_id=61\">Submission Page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Long Papers, Short Papers and Posters will be published in the proceedings. Abstracts will not be included in the published proceedings but will be made available on the conference web site. Abstracts allow for conference presentations without the need to publish a paper.
