The conference fosters multi-disciplinarity and allows researchers from areas such as computer science, mathematics, psychology, philosophy, history (of science, art, etc.), education research, and more to meet and share their perspectives on the theory and application of diagrams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>For 2024, we will have a special track devoted to philosophical issues pertaining to diagrams. Special theme topics include any research on the philosophy of diagrams, such as:<br>\u2013 aesthetic properties of diagrams,<br>\u2013 cultural, metaphysical, epistemological aspects of diagrams,<br>\u2013 diagrams for syllogisms,<br>\u2013 diagrams in formal logic,<br>\u2013 diagrams in mathematical practice,<br>\u2013 diagrams in the mind,<br>\u2013 historical aspects of diagrams,<br>\u2013 iconicity and \u2018naturalness\u2019 of diagrams,<br>\u2013 imagination,<br>\u2013 philosophy of notation,<br>\u2013 reasoning and argumentation with diagrams,<br>\u2013 semantics and\/or pragmatics of diagrams,<br>\u2013 semiotics of diagrams,<br>\u2013 square of opposition, trees and graphs,<br>\u2013 the nature and definition of diagrams and diagramming,<br>\u2013 the work of philosophers such as Plato and C. S. Peirce<br>\u2013 visualization and intuition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the Philosophy track, Diagrams 2024 will have two further tracks: Main, and Psychology &amp; Education. If the main research contribution of your submission is considered to fit either of the other tracks then you are strongly encouraged to submit to the respective special track, each of which has a dedicated program committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">****************************************************************************<br><strong>Submission Categories<\/strong><br><br>We invite submissions for peer review that focus on any aspect of diagrams research, as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Long Papers (16 pages)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Short Papers (8 pages)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Posters (4 pages \u2013 this is both a maximum and minimum requirement)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abstracts, i.e. non-archival contributions (3 pages)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Details for all submission categories and formatting guidelines and requirements can be found at: <a href=\"https:\/\/diagrams-2024.diagrams-conference.org\/?page_id=61\">Submission Page<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long Papers, Short Papers and Posters will be published in the proceedings. Abstracts will not be included in the published proceedings but will be made available on the conference web site. Abstracts allow for conference presentations without the need to publish a paper.
